Sara on a carousel
Swinging away the day
To which she was born into
A kind of hitherto intro
To this life filled madness
& when does sadness first touch
The heart
When does heartbreak start & end
When does life interfere & cause one to bend
To its will?
Still she looks so cute going in circles
Above the floor as if she has
Opened a door to her innocence
& let us peek inside
We seek to hide all that is insufficient
With our lives
The husbands & wives going blindly
Through their days & concocting bitter
Ways to hurt the ones they love
But none of the above has any concern for Sara
Look at her go ‘round & ‘round
Circling to infinity
Her laughter wafting up into the sky
Unbeknownst to the lies we all carry
Scary isn’t it, the thoughts we keep
Still waters run deep
The ride over Sara makes the leap into my arms
& all is calm in her heart
What a start
To Eternity.
