I just finished downloading the new Mars Volta album from a torrent site & I am extremely happy!!! Even though downloading a leaked copy of the album is not very cool to do to one of your favorite bands, I just could not resist. I hang on every note played, on every word sung by this band. I justify my actions by not sharing any copies of the album with others & by making sure I buy at least 1 copy of the CD upon its release (I usually get 2 copies of all CD's I've been anticipating. 1 for the car & 1 for the house) Well I am in Heaven with this windfall of an opportunity.........obtaining an item that is still 2 months away from release!

I just went & copped this book at Groove Riders in Sherman Oaks. It set me back 55 bucks but when you see the history of a movement that I can say I belonged to it is all worth it. The book chronicles the genesis of the LA graff scene starting in 1983. This is a 445 page book & it only covers the years 83-88, there are 3 more volumes planned. It is rich with vintage pics & it has individual stories told by the writers that made the most impact for that time period....I could go on & on. It is a beautiful piece of work....

Whew! & here I am in a warehouse in Sylmar with every possible fan on trying to stay cool.......Hope you all had a nice extended weekend.

Hope You All Had A Happy 4th!!!!

Today I had the day off. I spent the day with my kids while my girl had to work (poor thing). We have been experiencing a heatwave here in Los Angeles with temperatures ranging from 95-115! Ouch. At this moment I happened to be chilling, literally, in my air conditioned apartment. Tomorrow is the Fourth Of July. I know what the date stands for historically, but I don't know if we truly use this day to commemorate our independence from England. Dam that was wierd to say, "our independence" for the simple fact that I belong to the group of people that was 'conquered' by the founding fathers offspring, the Native Americans. More specifically the Indians of what is now the American Southwest but back then was Mexico. The more I get into the emotion & the history of what the 4th of July represents the more I just wanna light the barbecue & grill some meat, put my kids in the pool & enjoy my paid day off from work.
